Arizona Weather Force has issued a Logn Range Weather Warning effective September 14th through September 16th.
Zones Issued For: Maricopa, Pima, Gila, Santa Cruz, Cochise, Graham, Greenlee Counties … Mogollon Rim
Discussion: The ridge of high pressure has now been replaced by a trough of low pressure, which is helping to keep temperatures below normal this week, albeit some won’t agree on that. However, this trough will bring tropical moisture up from a developing tropical system in Mexico by September 14th or around there. This will work with another upper-level low pressure system west of Southern California to bring widespread rain/thunderstorms to the affected areas.
Arizona Weather Force models show high risk of storm activity from Phoenix, Pinal, Tucson, the works … I will be monitoring it, and updating as the days go by, but you have your warning … Storms like this can produce flooding, damaging winds, hail, and even a chance of tornadoes.
Your fall forecast will need to wait, because this one is important.
KEEP IN MIND: Monsoon events like this can mean you either get hit or missed by even a mile or so. Arizona Weather Force works on ‘zones’, not backyards.
As always, we take it one day at a time with these events
