Site:  Arizona Weather Force has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Watch effective later this morning through this evening …

Date:  7/17/22 at 5:15am PT

Forecast: The severe storm sector will push northward of the Phoenix Metro areas today from where it was yesterday.  Explosive storm development is expected along the Mogollon Rim with activity pushing west-northwest.  Due to training, flood potential is very high with these cells as numerous storms will hit one after another.

Strong lifting will promote large hail with the strongest cells, on the order of 1-2″ in diameter with damage from it being likely.  Damaging winds will also be a factor with these cells.
