AZWF SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH ISSUED

Arizona Weather Force has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Watch effective today, August 20, 2022 for the following areas;

All of Maricopa County
All of Pinal County
All of Yavapai County
All of Mojave County
All of La Paz County
All of Yuma County
Western Pima County
Western half of Gila County

Discussion: Storms will again form off the Mogollon Rim and head southwest and west into the lower levels producing damaging winds, large hail, and flash flooding in the second day of this multi-day peak monsoon event. Storms will form on the CA/NV border and those will head southeast with their outflow boundaries and hit the Colorado River Valley areas. Yes, this is the type of pattern for the entire Colorado River Valley to be hit so if you are there, get to shore today and do not be caught out on the river when these hit. It also is the day for YUMA PROPER to be slammed harder than anything this season.
