Issued Zones:  Western parts of Cochise County, centering Sierra Vista to Benson …

Site:  Arizona Weather Force has issued a Thunderstorm Watch effective this afternoon and evening …

Date:  7/8/23 at 8:45am PT

Forecast: Monsoon moisture will push into Cochise County out of Mexico by this afternoon and evening, giving a short window of thunderstorm activity from Sierra Vista to Benson.  Although Wilcox is in the forecast zone, you will remain out of the thunderstorm risk with this as storms will mainly be from Benson south to Sierra Vista.   Hail will not be a problem, but some of the storms will bring 30-50 mph wind gusts with downburst potential.

These storms will be southeast of Tucson as well today, but Tucson will be in the line for thunderstorm risks tomorrow (Sunday) and additional alerts spreading that way will be issued accordingly.
