Severe Thunderstorm Watch


Issued Zones:  Pima, Santa Cruz, and Cochise County … 

Site:  Arizona Weather Force has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Watch effective this afternoon through later evening …

Date:  7/22/23 at 9:00am PT

Forecast: An upper ridge of high pressure will position itself to bring a fast easterly flow through the watch area this afternoon and evening.  Thunderstorms will form and move westerly as a result.  Thunderstorms today do have the power to produce large hail and damaging winds, especially in Santa Cruz and Eastern Pima County …

Storms tomorrow (Sunday) will have a stronger push to the west, which can affect areas north of there into Pinal and Maricopa County.  Those zones are not within the AZWF Severe Thunderstorm Watch today, but they will be monitored for addition watch issuance tomorrow (Sunday).
