Site:  Arizona Weather Force has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Watch effective this afternoon until midnight tonight …

Date:  8/8/23 at 8:50am PT

Forecast: Monsoon moisture remains in the area, with an even greater coverage zone today across Southeast and Eastern Arizona.  Thunderstorms are expected to erupt this afternoon and evening, which will be in the same Pima, Santa Cruz, and Cochise County zones as the other day.  Coverage however will extend northward through the eastern half of Pinal County where Oracle, Mammoth, and Kearny are located.  Such a southwest flow will also pinpoint a direct hit on Safford, in Graham County.

Storms today will contain damaging winds, large hail, and flooding … isolated tornadoes cannot be ruled out in the strongest cells.
