Site:  Arizona Weather Force has issued a Severe Weather Statement effective Friday August 18, 2023… 

Date:  8/17/23 at 12:00pm PT

Forecast: With the exception of showers and thunderstorms pushing through these same zones today, for this afternoon, evening, and night, stronger instability due to increasing upper-level dynamics will be in the area tomorrow (Friday).  Storms within the influence of Hurricane Hilary will be affecting Western Mexico.  Outflow from these along with deep tropical moisture will enter the statement zone.  

Storm motion will be strong and from southeast to northwest within the flow of the upper-level low to the west of California, which will be directly responsible for bringing Hilary northward into the region.

All modes of weather will be likely in the statement zones, be it large hail, damaging winds, flooding, and even isolated tornado activity.
