Arizona Weather Force has issued a Tornado Watch effective for the following areas: All of Maricopa, Pinal, and Pima County, which includes Phoenix, San Tan, Tucson and all in between, now until Wednesday morning.

Former Major Hurricane Jova is continuing to deliver moisture out of the Pacific Ocean.  This moisture is now being met with a strong upper-level jet stream.  This combination will bring severe thunderstorms to the watch area today and tonight.

Severe Thunderstorms are expected to form on the west end of the watch box in this article and move eastward with time.  Due to the upper-level jet stream divergence along with the available colder air aloft, storms in the watch period will have damaging winds, large hail, flooding, and even tornado potential.
