Thunderstorm Watch Issued for the Northwest half of Arizona, including Prescott Forecast Zones For May 15, 2024

Arizona Weather Force has issued a Thunderstorm Watch effective for the following zones.

Zones issued for:  Kingman, all of Yavapai County, including Chino Valley and Prescott …

Discussion:  A cutoff system to the southwest of here is moving through the forecast area, which is causing the onshore flow and low clouds within Southern California’s metros today.  This same system is going to bring showers and thunderstorms out of the north, through Yavapai forecast zones this evening, and stretching through at least the Kingman forecast areas as well.

Storms will vacate at sunset when the heating of the day goes down, but there is a chance of some leakage of showers through the Maricopa County zones, albeit isolated to scattered tonight.
