Severe Thunderstorm Watch Issued for the Eastern half of Arizona, including the Tucson Metro

Arizona Weather Force has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Watch effective for the following zones.

Zones issued for:  Eastern half of Arizona.

Discussion:  Moisture continues to stream in from Mexico thanks to Alberto.  This moisture caused a Thunderstorm Watch to be issued here at Arizona Weather Force yesterday across mostly Pinal and Gila Counties, with areas near and east of Tucson being affected as well.

For today, expecting more widespread activity as moisture has deepened.  This should affect all of the Eastern half of Arizona but will not affect the Phoenix or Prescott forecast zones.  All modes of severe weather will be likely, including a chance of tornadoes, large hail, damaging winds, the works.

Phoenix and Prescott, you will have storms tomorrow, Saturday June 22, 2024 – and I will be back with that alert issuance in the morning.
