Arizona Weather Force has issued a Severe Weather Statement effective for July 31, 2024

Zones Issued For:  Pima County, including Tucson’s zone – Santa Cruz County – Pinal County – Maricopa County –

Discussion:  An easterly wave clearly visible on satellite will be moving northwest through Northwest Mexico on Wednesday morning.  This feature will move through the statement area throughout the day.  Outflow from all storms will affect the entire forecast zone.  Although the target is Pima County, Pinal and San Tan will be within the zone as well, it will scatter the Phoenix forecast area, which is why I said, “Dust for Some”.  It is not a slam dunk up there, but Pima and Pinal County you are in a direct hit.  Although this feature is far away, I will finalize the areas on the morning of July 31, 2024 (Wednesday)…

San Tan to Maricopa County, you will need to rely on the strong outflow out of the south.  I do not see much capping at the surface, so you should get storms moving through or close.

Central Pima County TOPAWA: Watch out … and if you live there, comment you do … prepare now…

COCHISE COUNTY:  You will be left out for the most part, enjoy your time off…

Am Enhanced Severe Weather Statement is issued here at Arizona Weather Force when an event is 18-24 hours away and will be further finalized by the final Severe Thunderstorm Watch.

As always, we take it one day at a time with these events.
