Increased Monsoon Flow Across Most of Arizona; Monitoring Around Independence Day For Elevated Thunderstorm Risks

Arizona Weather Force is monitoring the weather pattern that will bring monsoon moisture into majority of Arizona, for showers and thunderstorms, starting around Independence Day, which could affect travel and camping plans.

The current pattern has Eastern Arizona getting the shower and thunderstorm activity this week, where Arizona Weather Force Thunderstorm Watches are in effect (Ref A).  California is under lower thsan normal temperatures, along with a marine layer.  This is due to a deeper trough of low pressure over the region.  This will kick off over the next several days, and then replaced by the main four corners ridge of high pressure system that controls the Southwest Monsoon.  With fast developing tropical systems in the Eastern Pacific, and tropical waves from Mexico, there is growing confidence that a deeper layer of moisture and dynamics will enter the region during the beginning of July.

This was stated in previous updates, including Arizona Weather Force FB videos (Ref B).

Being this is long range, this is indeed called a Raiden Storm Pattern.  A Raiden Storm Pattern is a forecast in the long range that no other source has when the forecast was published, but will likely copy from Arizona Weather Force as it gets closer.

EXTENDED LONG RANGE:  This is the start of the monsoonal flow around the high pressure ridge.  The moisture will continue to rotate around it, entrained into it with thunderstorms increasing across the state on average through July.
