Thunderstorm and Dust Storm Watch Issued For Eastern Pima County, Including Tucson

0Shares

Arizona Weather Force has issued a Thunderstorm Watch and Dust Storm Watch, effective Tuesday, August 5th, 2025 for the following zones;

Issued Zones: Eastern Pima County … All of Santa Cruz County …

Date Issued: August 5th, 2025 at 9:15am Local

Discussion: Mid-level moisture has returned to a small area of Arizona for today, with thunderstorms expected to develop after the noon hour across Eastern Pima County south of Tucson, and into the Santa Cruz County areas.  These thunderstorms may become briefly severe during the watch period, which will send a dust storm into Tucson as storms weaken toward the metro.  Still, a dust storm is expected for Tucson this evening, according to Arizona Weather Force models … Even though you are in a yellow box for Tucson, you are in the Dust Storm Watch, not full Thunderstorm Watch … still, a small-scale active day for the watch zone is expected.

A Thunderstorm Watch is issued at Arizona Weather Force when conditions are possible for thunderstorms, covering 50% of the watch zone.  Thunderstorm Watches at Arizona Weather Force are private, issued ahead of time to the public by AZWF as the lead-time is extremely important to you.
