Arizona Weather Force has issued a Severe Weather Statement effective Wednesday, September 3rd, 2025 for the following zones;

Issued Zones: Maricopa, Pinal, Pima, and Santa Cruz County …

Date Issued: September 2nd, 2025 at 7:00pm Local

Discussion: Clearing skies will be present over the morning on Wednesday.  This will signal that the instability is there for severe weather.  During the afternoon, the first storms are expected to form over the Tucson to Santa Cruz County forecast zones.  These storms will move to the west-northwest with time.  Outflow from the powerful storms will ignite more storms up the I-10 corridor in Pinal County through the evening hours and finally into the Phoenix Metro areas, including ALL valley areas, not just one section.  I am expecting a full explosion of severe thunderstorms to follow behind a major dust storm ahead of it for the Central, Eastern, Western, and yes Northern Phoenix Metro Valley zones.  Pinal will include the metros of the San Tan Valley as well as Maricopa.

A Severe Weather Statement is issued second in line to an upgraded final watch, usually issued 12 to 24 hours before the final alert is issued.  A Severe Weather Statement means that AZWF is monitoring the statement area for an upgrade to Severe Thunderstorm Watch, where Damaging Winds, Large Hail, and Flooding is all possible.  Alerts at Arizona Weather Force are private, issued ahead of time to the public by AZWF as the lead-time is extremely important to you.
