Issued Zones: Santa Cruz, Cochise, Graham, and Greenlee County … Eastern half of Pima County, including Tucson …
Site: Arizona Weather Force has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Watch effective later this morning through some of tonight …
Date: 8/2/22 at 10:05am PT
Forecast: A ridge of high pressure has migrated and built back over just south of the four corners region, where it normally is during the monsoon season. This will bring a near due easterly flow through the watch area.
Storms are expected to form in Greenlee and Cochise County first, migrating downstream into the rest of the affected watch zones in the graphic above.
Storms today will have the power to produce large hail, damaging winds, and flooding. Storms will weaken more as they move through Tucson and west of there. The strongest will be Cochise County.
