Enhanced Severe Thunderstorm Watch Issued For Tucson, Pina, and Maricopa County: June 30, 2024

Arizona Weather Force has issued an Enhanced Severe Thunderstorm Watch effective for the following zones:

Zones issued for:  Maricopa County … Pinal County … Pima County …  Cochise County …

Discussion:  An Easterly wave is moving through the area.  The resulting upper-level lift will bring an explosion of thunderstorms in Cochise County and the Catalina Mountain areas of Tucson.  This resulting event will show a shockwave through the atmosphere into Tucson. There? It will propagate along the I-10 corridor through Pinal County this evening and eventually hit Phoenix forecast zone.  But wait, there is more… overnight another wave will hit Phoenix for more storms.

An Enhanced Severe Thunderstorm Watch, the HIGHEST OF THE ALERTS is issued as the final alert for the day, which will outline large hail, damaging winds, flooding, and/or tornado within the description itself.
