Weather Advisory

0Shares

Issued Zones:  Maricopa County Metro Zones … Gila Bend … Northwest Pinal County around Maricopa …

Site:  Arizona Weather Force has issued a Weather Advisory effective now through tonight …

Date:  10/5/22 at 1:05pm local

Forecast: A cutoff low to the east is providing the region with a north to south flow.  As this opens up more after around 8pm local, we can expect this flow to be more northeast to southwest.  This would be enough to bring an area of lift through the advisory area, and enough instability for showers and even thunderstorms to form.

I can see a good amount of this lift during the night hours, which should prompt my Thunderstorm Watch alert, however being the small scale nature of the system crossing the zones, an advisory is fine with thunderstorm wording.

Some of these will contain flooding, strong winds, and hail.  One thing to note is typically in this flow, Northern Phoenix to New River tends to be on the drier side, but since the rules in my alerts is 10 miles or so from a zone border, you have been included.

The main target zones will be areas in the Buckeye, Wittmann, and Mesa/Tempe/Scottsdale and Sky Harbor forecast zones …

So, these will be considered hit and miss, but who they hit in the advisory zone will see some damage …
